A drone fired from Yemen struck Eilat Wednesday, wounding at least 22 people, local medics reported.
The Israeli military confirmed air defences failed to intercept the drone before it hit the Red Sea city.
Emergency services said two people suffered serious injuries, while the rest received minor wounds.
Authorities Secure Site and Warn Public
Police deployed bomb disposal teams to inspect the drone debris.
Officials instructed residents to avoid the crash site and not touch any potential explosives.
The military urged the public to follow Home Front Command safety guidelines posted on Telegram.
Houthis Escalate Attacks, Israel and U.S. Respond
Iran-backed Houthi rebels regularly fire drones and missiles at Israel, citing support for Palestinians.
Houthis also attack Red Sea shipping routes, forcing major carriers to take longer, costlier detours.
Israel and the U.S. retaliated with airstrikes in Yemen, killing Houthi leaders and targeting infrastructure.
The Houthis vowed revenge for their prime minister’s death and the loss of nearly half their cabinet.
