Bukayo Saka has agreed a new five-year contract with Arsenal that will make him one of the highest-paid players in the club’s history. The deal, which is expected to be confirmed soon, will run until 2031 and significantly increases Saka’s salary from his current contract signed in 2023. His new terms are understood to be worth more than £15m per season, placing him among Europe’s elite earners and reflecting his importance to the team.

The England forward has been a priority renewal for Arsenal’s sporting director, Andrea Berta, following long-term deals agreed last year for Gabriel Magalhães, William Saliba, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly. Saka, a Hale End academy graduate, previously said he wanted to “win wearing this badge” and has been in strong form as Arsenal built a six-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

Manager Mikel Arteta has repeatedly stressed Saka’s value to the club, while carefully managing his minutes this season after a minor hamstring injury. Arsenal are also considering an improved contract for Declan Rice, whose influence has continued to grow since his move from West Ham.
