Jordan Stolz emerged as one of Team USA’s biggest breakout stars at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan‑Cortina, delivering a mix of Olympic records, gold medals, and strong performances on the ice. Stolz stood out among the U.S. delegation by earning multiple medals and writing his name into Olympic speed skating history.

The 21‑year‑old American won two gold medals in long‑track speed skating. He claimed the top spot in both the 500‑meter and 1,000‑meter races, setting new Olympic records in each event. These wins highlighted his sprint speed and tactical skill on the ice, thrilling fans and helping Team USA in its overall medal campaign.

In the men’s 500 meters, Stolz blazed to the finish first, clocking a time of 33.77 seconds, faster than any skater in Olympic history for that distance. A week earlier, he already set an Olympic record in the 1,000 meters with a time of 1:06.28, showing exceptional consistency at the top of his sport.

Stolz also added a silver medal in the 1,500‑meter race. He finished closely behind China’s Ning Zhongyan, who set a record in that event. Despite not winning gold, Stolz’s performance in the 1,500m confirmed his versatility across distances and capped his strong Olympic showing.

By the end of the Games, Stolz finished with three medals — the most of any U.S. athlete at the 2026 Winter Olympics. That achievement underscored his role as a cornerstone of the American team and highlighted a bright future for the Wisconsin native in speed skating.

Stolz also competed in the men’s mass start event, where he narrowly missed the podium and finished fourth after a dramatic race. While this result kept him off the medal stand in that discipline, it did not lessen his overall impact on the Games or his status as one of the top skaters in the world.

Across the Olympics, his performances were praised by commentators as a blend of raw speed, race intelligence and courage under pressure. Analysts noted that Stolz’s record‑breaking wins echoed past U.S. greats while also setting a new standard for the next generation of American skaters.

Beyond individual medals, Stolz’s success contributed to Team USA’s historic Winter Olympics performance, where the Americans set a new record for most gold medals at a single Winter Games. His speed skating medals helped bolster the U.S. medal total and highlighted the country’s strength in ice sports.

As the Olympics closed, Stolz’s rise was a key storyline — not just for his results but for how he competed. At just 21, he became one of the most decorated U.S. winter athletes in Milan‑Cortina, showing a blend of talent and poise rare for such a young competitor.

Overall, the USA Speed Skating Stolz story is one of record‑breaking races and memorable Olympic moments. His performances at the 2026 Games will long be remembered as a defining part of Team USA’s success and a major highlight of this Winter Olympics.
