    Israel Targets Iranian Defence Systems

The Israeli military has carried out a broad strike on western Iran’s defence installations, following joint US-Israeli air raids early Saturday. The attacks come amid weeks of mounting tensions as Washington and Tehran negotiate over Iran’s nuclear program.

Iran Strikes Back Across the Gulf

In retaliation, Iran launched attacks on US military bases throughout the Gulf, with Oman being the only country spared. US President Donald Trump framed the strikes as addressing decades of grievances and urged Iranians to eventually rise against their government.

    Regional Impact and Global Response

World leaders, including UN Secretary-General António Guterres, have called for calm, and the UN Security Council is set to meet to address the situation.
