Hamilton Foresees a Harsh Road Ahead in 2026

    A Weekend Filled With Frustration

Lewis Hamilton expresses clear disappointment after another difficult race weekend in Las Vegas. The seven-time world champion starts last after a slow qualifying session. It is the first time in his 19-year career that he qualifies last purely on pace. He climbs into the points early, but he cannot pass Nico Hülkenberg’s Sauber. He struggles on medium tyres and finishes tenth.

Hamilton calls the result “terrible” and says he sees “nothing positive” in the day. He tells a UK radio station that he only wants the season to end. He adds that he does not look forward to the next one. When asked if he means the Qatar race, he replies: “Next season.”

    Leclerc Strengthens His Advantage

Hamilton sits sixth in the championship. He trails Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc by 73 points, as Leclerc holds fifth place. He still waits for his first race podium with Ferrari. He joined the team this season and only secured the sprint win in China.

If he finishes the final two races of 2025 without a podium, he completes his first season without a top-three result.

    A Season Dominated by Setbacks

His Las Vegas issues begin in qualifying. The wet conditions cause serious problems. He lacks pace on the extreme wet tyre and loses crucial time. Two weeks earlier he describes his first Ferrari season as “a nightmare” after retiring in São Paulo.

In an interview with a major British sports network after the Vegas race, he reflects on the difficult year. He says he feels “terrible”. He calls the season “the worst ever”. He explains that everything keeps getting worse, no matter how hard he tries.
